Client was charged with Obstruction of Legal Process (Resisting Arrest) and Disorderly Conduct in Minneapolis. The client’s car was being towed and he confronted the tow truck driver about it. The client became upset and police claimed they repeatedly told the client to calm down and walk away, but he didn’t. The State alleged that the client was being aggressive towards others, loud, causing a scene, and resisted police when being arrested. We convinced the jury that it’s not illegal to be loud or upset and that the client’s actions were not criminal. The jury agreed and deliberated for less than one hour before acquitting our client.
